A large number of small business owners have difficulty with deciding how to make the right choice for designing their website. They search the web for help with the website and find that the choice is harder than they thought. At present there are (literally) large numbers of websites who says to be professional web designers. However, one must be careful in selecting the best person or people through which to trust their company image. In this article, I will try to identify web designers into feasible groups, and teach someone the difference between the types. vivus.ge

Web-site designers fall into four general categories: durham region amateur, freelance professional, Net Design Company, Web Advancement Firm.

Freelance Amateur

The majority of web-site designers you will come across, especially searching the net, are self employed. That is, those who do web design but are not employed by a web design company. A lot of are self-employed professionals but almost all of these freelancers are amateur-hobbyist types. They find a copy of FrontPage? was included with their MS Workplace? Suite. They uncovered how fun it could be to make website pages so they started telling their friends that they could “design” web pages.

The “pros” of using an amateur is that they are incredibly cheap. The “cons” are too numerous to mention, but I’ll explain a few. They have no training; they have little understanding of what makes a good website work; they do not understand Web coding or CSS but only FrontPage point and click; they do not understand general design and layout concepts and in addition they have little real experience. The biggest reason they should be avoided for the serious businessperson, is that their work appears amateurish, helping to make your company look amateurish. Who would like that?

Freelance Professional

An expert is often defined simply by being paid. People feel that if you are purchased something, then you are professional. Probably that’s true in the Olympics, nevertheless for the business services world, you aren’t a professional until you are established and respected as one from your clients and peers. Freelancer professional web designers are a huge leap from the newbie in this they have set up a portfolio of respected work. They may have some sort of competent training and experience and they have credentials that can be verified by contacting references. They have a good reputation with their clients and other professionals. In general, a good freelance professional website design company can be good person to acquire doing your site. But they are hard to distinguish from the amateur when you are just searching the net.

The upside is, if you find worth keeping they are significantly cheaper than the usual web design company. But that is usually the only upside. If the budget limits you, then a freelancer will do for a tiny project. But whatever seriously important should be left to a professional company.

Some downsides to by using a freelance pro are that they are usually part-time, meaning they are limited in how much time they can spend to your project. Fortunately they are limited in what they can do for you. Most freelancers are specialists in one area and generalists in everything different. Some have no skills in anything except their one specialty and often you will have to find others to load roles. Additionally, freelancers are not always cheap although many of them are aspiring to develop their own company; many are highly sought after and fee $100 per hour or more for his or her work. My own advice is, if you have much to spend, go with a company that includes a team of experts to get the job done in a timelier manner.
